In this story the author talks about how he went to visit a corporate master-planned community called Green Valley. In this community, everything is the same, they are all built by the corporates to look alike. the houses are identical, and to me, the way he is describing it seems like a fake world like the Truman Show. A "city" like this is run by the corporation, and has rules, and certain things everyone has to follow. He had went to Green Valley to see how the people acted and felt living in a corporate designed and run community.
My neighborhood is a lot different from a corporate neighborhood. I was in a nice little neighborhood in Antioch, Tennessee. Everyone was friendly and were friends with each other. All of the kids in the neighborhood would play in the streets during the summer days because we lived on a dead end. All of the houses we different and because of the hills, it would be almost impossible to be the same. There are no rules that everyone has to follow, so that is different from the story, but we did have a neighborhood watch at one time to walk around the neighborhood to make sure it was safe. I still live at this house and for a while when people moved out, the neighborhood was not as friendly as it used to be, but now more people have moved in and we are back to a little neighborhood.

Home
Five memories/feelings of home:
- Christmas
- Baseball pool parties
- Spending time with family
- Happiness
- Friends
Baseball pool parties:I have played baseball since I was about five years old, and we have a pool in the back of our house. So, when I played baseball when I was five through eight, we would have pool parties at my house with the baseball team. This was mainly because my dad was a coach all of those years, and my mom was the team mom. I remember everybody swimming and having fun while music was playing in the backround. My dad would grill so there would be lots of food too. In the middle of the party, we wold all gather in my back driveway where the food was, and the coaches would hand out the trophys and awards for the year. Then we would just swim and play games until everyone went home. Those were really fun times.

Being the opposite sex for one day
If I could be a girl for one day hmmm...well to be honest I have never really thought about what I would do if I could be a girl, so this is all going to be off the top of my head.
I think I would probably just have to be evil part of the time. Since girls are usually associated with gossip, I think I would start a lot of rumors about people. Especially the people I don't like. I think that would be pretty funny honestly. Then I would probably dress to attract men and turn all of them down, just because I could. Oh, and i would probably have to talk to girls and see if they like me, so kinda collect some info for when I become a guy again.

Closing Ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics
Observations:- very stand-out colors
- women in background look like they are cheering and dancing
- the two men in blue look to be on stilted pogo sticks
- the two men are balancing themselves
- the two me are also wearing helmets
- there are many women in the background
- they picked two very contrasting colors to make the two men in blue stand out
- the cheering and dancing women show how they wanted the closing ceremonies to be fun and cheerful
- the helmets imply the two men could do something potentially dangerous
- because they are balancing themselves, it shows that Beijing wanted to do something very difficult and impressive to end a great Olympics
- because of the mass amount of people, they wanted the Olympics to be remembered for a long time by the huge production they put on
From first glance, this picture really stood out to me. The photographer did a great job when he took the picture with the bright yellow background and the dark blue front. That combination of color would catch any ones attention right away. The cheering and dancing women in the back really set the joyous mood for the whole scene, and the two men balancing themselves as they bounce in the air show how Beijing wanted to finish the Olympics with a masterful performance.
Seeing the picture full of people shows the amount of time and effort they put into making a great closing ceremony. This picture truly captures a part of this great performance.
